Previously we called this building the big nipple on top of the mountain when approaching Troodos from Panagia side. However we visited the Makarios monument and Tomb which is accessed by driving through the main Kykkos complex. Its in the final stages of completion with some lovely architecture, incredible views, the decoration of the whole site is top notch and the tomb spotlessly clean. Without doubt the cleanest public monument we have been to in Cyprus. Recommended as a one off visit or a bolt on to a Kykkos trip. Remember to take a hat as its very open and exposed to the sun. |
