Charlie Airlines gets Cyprus Airways logo
The Cyprus Airways logo will take once again to the skies after Russian airline company S7 and the Cyprus Finance Ministry put pen to paper on Friday.
Charlie Airlines, a subsidiary company of S7, will have the right to use for ten years the commercial emblem and logo of defunct Cyprus Airways in exchange for €2.04 million.
The signing ceremony took place on Friday and the deal included a five-year renewal clause on conditions based on negotiations between the company and the state.
Other terms and conditions provided that the CY logo could only be used on flights to and from Cyprus.
Charlie Airlines has applied for a license in Cyprus and expects to begin its flight programme towards the end of this year, initially with three main destinations, Britain, Greece and Russia.
The new airline will take off to the skies initially on Airbus 319-100 aircraft.
I hope it flys from Paphos!
