Does anyone know if the Amazon fire stick works here in Cyprus.

No it doesn't unless you have a private VPN which 'tricks' the device into thinking you are in the UK.

You can upload Kodi onto it, I have done that.

Once kodi is loaded, you can add a whole lot of addons that will give you whatever you could ever wish to watch on tv

We found that using a VPN slowed the download speed and caused much irritating buffering. We now use Unlocator. And, yes, you (well, my technically enabled OH in our household ) can load Kodi and many other add-ons to give a wide variety of programmes to watch.

yes it does load kodi load ONLY the addons that work for you (without vpn or smartdns)

eg Phoenix, exodus, uk turks, bob, maverick tv, specto fork, salts. filmon tv, project cypher, cypher tv, freedom tv suicide tv, ccloud tv ,

covers most tv requirements

and for sports
castaway, champion sports, Bulldog streams, moneysports, adrian sports, dc sports, maverick sports, lily sports

Don't forget Mobdro for UK TV sports and all the Sky film channels - free.

An advert on UK tv with Jeremy Clarkson in it; shows him shipping Fire Sticks on drones to Europe, which gives the impression that it works outside UK. Obviously very misleading.

but it does work outside the UK - maybe not with the apps shown in the ad (well not without a vpn or smartdns) and I assume thats what you refer to - but the rest all work and there is plenty to go at without having catchup apps = = = kodi is the ultimate catch up app

I have 3 firesticks all work fine on various TV's round the house.

All I need to do is subscribe (about £35 a year) to a re-locator service (faster than a vpn) and re-set the dns numbers on my router. All the TV's, work perfectly on all the amazon apps. I have also sideloaded Kodi and Mobdro on the firestick.
