We went to the Seminar at the Elysium by CPAG on Title Deeds.
It was good and informative.

However, (and I know the Elysium is expensive) but to charge 3.33 euros for a small bottle of water is really extracting the urine - I nearly asked for a brandy to get over the shock but realised that I would probably need a mortgage!!

Heaven help tourists staying there.

Well Tiggy, if tourists book into a 5* hotel, most will pretty much know what to expect. You know you're going to get screwed on things like this, but someone has to pay for the space, charm, ambience and attentive staff - and that's you the punter. Lloyd

Helen I think they are looking for the type of clients who do not notice these minutae. I would have returned it.

Well suprise suprise, all the time the developers have been saying the cypriot law is based on English law - it's a lie. It is based on Ottoman law (but I did know that) but how many have been lulled into a false sense of security because of it?

Lots of folk have now formed associations/groups to battle with 14 major developers over things like IMP etc.
I am hoping that the CPAG will put the info on their website as I for one found it very informative and too much to summerise here.

There was good info on how to proceed with court action to acquire TD's though it is quite a long process.

Yes we were there too and the Forum was excellent - also informed us that CPAG were going to up their action now to try to get the Government to do something - unfortunately they feel they have no other option but the reverse of this is that less tourists will come here and no one in their right mind will buy a property without title deeds at the moment.
With regards to the price of a bottle of water I am not surprised but did you notice the chap on the door - most pleasant chap - smiled, had a joke with us and we all said that this guy would actually sell the hotel to anyone!

Well I'm certainly not a rich widow !!! However sorry Nosher but I meant the cypriot guy at the main hotel entrance although I'm sure you are very nice too!!!

Regarding the water, I am reliably informed that it has all been passed by the management.
