What options do I have to sell a duty free car? Duty free status was applied for in March 2004 and granted by letter, dated 30th April 2004. The vehicle is a 2.0 litre 5-door Rav4 automatic, and is in very good condition. Owner is returning to the UK.

Best go to Customs before you do anything, duty free lasts 10 years, if you sell the car before the 10 years are up, you have to pay a % = time left out of 10 years.

That's the theory, the Customs seem to interpret the rules in their own special way!
