Post subject:  Brown aluminium fencing repair

Hello all,
We have a front aluminium fence that is close boarded, we need it repaired as it is affected by high winds and moves about a lot.
The posts probably need to be re-set and ideally we would like the panels changed to staggered and fitted to both sides of the posts, front and back, to allow the wind through but keep privacy.
An inexpensive fix wanted, by,perhaps, a handyman?

We live in Tala.

Thank you all .
Paul

I'd envisage that simply unscrewing every other panel from the upright supports & then screwing them on the other side of the posts to cover the gaps they left will sort this issue - the area they need to cover remaining the same?

If you can manage to extract the post fixings, then simply replace them with longer bolts (say +50%) to counter the effects of 'wind rock'.

If the existing bolts are proving difficult to remove, you can improve their hold by unscrewing the retaining nut up to the top of the thread & tapping down the bolt section a little. Re-tighten the nut & all should be fine.

Last option if the above fails is to reposition the support posts, but obviously you will be left with the original fixing holes in both your wall & the sections of fence panels. I don't know if you can buy plastic plugs for the holes in the panels.

If you are not handy, get a tradesman in.

Hope the above helps.
