Have you ever gone along to a concert to keep someone company even though it wasn't really your kind of thing but ended up having a brilliant time?

For me as a die hard heavy metal fan it was going with my now wife to see Barry White at Hammersmith Odeon (when it was still called that). Ended up being one of the best concerts I have been to - and I have been to a few!

Anyone had any similar experiences?

Saw Cliff at the aforementioned Hammersmith Odeon many years ago in the "Juvenile Delinquent" show, he was brilliant.

Saw him several times after that around London.

Hi Band
I was taken to see Hot Chocolate in concert in Warrington in the 80's
being honest I found them ok
but would never have bought a ticket to go and watch them live
they where amazing
and I loved every seccond of the concert

another one was Georgie Fame
went to see him a few years ago just outside of Oxford
wasn't particularly looking forwards to it
but
he was absolutely amazing
and welll worth going to see
the show was not what i was expecting
very entertaining
and he really does still play that same organ on his live shows
as he played back then
has some amazing stories to recall and tell also

Not so much a concert but a show. Many many years took my wife to London for a weekend. Spur of the moment thing so nothing planned

Fancy seeing a show? Yes

"cheapest" was called "The dirtiest show in town". OH not totally convinced but I thought it sounded good

It turned out to be a disaster. Actors just prancing around in the niddy. We left before the interval
