Not a person who normally goes out for Sunday lunch, in fact the last time was just over a year ago.
Having checked there was chicken breast on the menu, we booked a table (advisable as it was 'full house') and were given the choice of four tables that had been set up for two persons. Duly seated, our drinks order was taken, first having been advised that a glass of wine was included in the set price of €10.95, and whilst enjoying our first drink our food order was taken. We chose the starter (prawn cocktail or pate or spring rolls with dip) and the main course (chicken breast or pork or lamb).
Very happy with the presentation, quality and portion sizes, the attentive service of both bar and waiting staff and the general ambience - we were seated inside (my nickname for today was the 'non-smoking chicken').
Dessert was a bit of a dilemma - making up our minds up whether to have the home made apple pie or plum crumble with (I think as I wasn't really listening by then) a chocolate fudge cake type pudding as the third choice. The plum crumble won with creamy custard for my husband and vanilla ice cream that tasted as if it came from Cornwall for me.
First time we have eaten at Ollie's and we will definitely return for Sunday lunch soon - with friends. We were told that chicken breast is always on the menu but the other two meats are chosen from beef/lamb/pork.
Thank you 'Ollie's Taverna'.
