After lots of interference on tonight's TV we managed to see some of the match-- well done Barnsley 1 Chelsea 0 . The scenes when the final whistle went were mad just a sea of supporters. Off to watch highlights now on Sky sport 2 Marj

Well Done Barnsley

Although I am now a Huddersfield Supporter being a Barnsley Lass having watched the Tykes as a child with my late father, I watched avidly this evening and could not believe how well they defended. We (Huddersfield) couldn't do it at Chelsea but it is so great to now see Chelski knocked out along with MU.

Who knows it may not be a premiership club to win the FAcup this year.

Aagh the magic of the FA Cup !
Boro will now fancy their chances and if they take their eye off the ball, who knows ? they might get relegated.
One can only hope !

Yesterday you could get odds of about 440 to 1 on the semi finalists being Portsmouth, Barnsley, Cardiff and Bristol City, I.E the 4 underdogs.

Well the first 2 are through, bet Boro are not as confident now.

Good luck to them anyway, be nice for the region to get one team to Wembley.

Well I'd like to see WBA win it cos I still have a soft spot for Super Kevin Phillips !
(The only English player ever to have won the Golden Boot !)

Gary,

You are so, so wrong with that statements - Kevin Phillips was the last English player to win the golden boot, NOT the only English player:

2006-07 Didier Drogba, Chelsea 20
2005-06 Thierry Henry, Arsenal 27
2004-05 Thierry Henry, Arsenal 25
2003-04 Thierry Henry, Arsenal 30
2002-03 Ruud van Nistelrooy, Manchester United 25
2001-02 Thierry Henry, Arsenal 24
2000-01 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Chelsea 23
1999-00 Kevin Phillips, Sunderland 30
1998-99 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Leeds United, Michael Owen, Liverpool, Dwight Yorke, Manchester United 18
1997-98 Chris Sutton, Blackburn Rovers, Dion Dublin, Coventry City, Michael Owen, Liverpool 18
1996-97 Alan Shearer, Newcastle United 25
1995-96 Alan Shearer, Blackburn Rovers 31
1994-95 Alan Shearer, Blackburn Rovers 34
1993-94 Andy Cole, Newcastle United 34
1992-93 Teddy Sheringham, Tottenham Hotspur 22

As you see from the above list, Shearer is the only English player to win it 3 times [/b]

Pete,
If I'm wrong then I apologize but I didn't research the record books before making my claim, however, I think I may be right. The Golden Boot is awarded to the player who scores the most goals in a season out of all the leagues in Europe.
I think what you have quoted is the highest goal scorers in the Premiership.
If your quote was correct then a player from our league has won the Golden Boot every season since 92 and this is certainly not the case.
This would mean, as usual, your claims about Shearer are false !
Give Phillips his due,
Gary
