Dear All,

Just joined this Forum and would like to let you know of two novels I have written which some of you may like to read. I hope you enjoy them.

First book is called: So Near to Apocalypse

Synopsis.

Based on actual historical events; some yet to be released to the public, this novel covers the vital weeks before the Cuba Crisis in mid-October 1962 when British Intelligence’s Russian agent in the Kremlin, using a clandestine radio feed back to a Royal Signals and Intelligence Corps team, the vital information which finally convinced President Kennedy of the Soviet’s true intentions with regard to putting nuclear missiles on Cuba.
The agent’s information allowed Kennedy to outmanoeuvre and humiliate the Russian Premier, Nikita Khrushchev and avert what would have been America’s second Pearl Harbour. How MI6 exfiltrated this agent under the noses of the Russian and East German secret police, to personally brief the American president. He brings back one of Britain’s infamous double agents who expose the Soviet spies still operating in British Intelligence and the answer to other unsolved mysteries. The novel concludes with revealing the plot and the actual players who carried out the assassination of Kennedy resulting from the Cuba Crisis.

This novel can be ordered as a paperback or downloaded to your computer from the publishers website: http://www.lulu.com/content/1030447

The Duke of Windsor’s Last Secrets

Synopsis.

Many fine books have been written about the scandalous life and times of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, but alas they can never tell the whole story because so many vital historical documents about this fascinating couple are still not in the public domain after more than eighty years. Many are deemed so embarrassing and sensitive that they will probably never be released. This novel is unique in that for the first time, in fictional form, many of those important embargoed files and supposedly lost or destroyed documents are brought to life to finally complete the bizarre and sensational story of this most famous of all royal couples. To my knowledge, no other author has attempted this approach before.

Discover the dark hidden secrets of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor, and their unconventional social and sexual lifestyle. A marriage based on domination and subservience considered totally unsuitable for a monarch; the real reason the British Cabinet forced the Duke to abdicate. Read the Duke & Duchess’s explicit personal files written by the secret service and the infamous ‘China Dossier’ on Wallis Simpson’s sexual escapades whilst living in Hong Kong and China in the early 1930’s.

The Duke’s contacts with Hitler before and during WWII and the intrigues and plots by British aristocratic Nazi sympathisers, which included members of the House of Lords, Members of Parliament and senior diplomats, to dispose of Churchill’s warmongering government, reinstate the Duke of Windsor to the throne and negotiate a peaceful settlement with Germany. This book exposes the major 1930’s pro-Nazi organisations in Britain and their most prominent members.

Read at last the full operational account of Nazi Germany’s scheme to kidnap the Duke and their plans to coerce him into working for them; only briefly covered by other authors. The dramatic, last minute assassination attempt by the Gestapo, whilst the Duke and Duchess were escaping from Lisbon to the Bahamas.

When he was governor-general of the Bahamas during WWII, the Duke’s double-dealing over land sales involving the Mafia that also led to the cold-blooded, ritualistic killing, of his business rival, Sir Harry Oakes.

The Duke left many unacknowledged legacies to mankind including the hundreds of thousands of British, French and Belgium lives he saved at the beginning of WWII; his personal involvement in identifying Rudolf Hess on his arrival in Scotland in search of peace. Who Hess really came to see, his accidental death in British hands and the Duke’s personnel plea in mitigation to the Nuremberg Trial judges that unknowingly saved the life of Hess’s ‘Double’.

The highly embarrassing royal letters and explicit films that Communist spy and MI5 officer Anthony Blunt covertly retrieved on behalf of King George VI from German royal palaces at the end of WW11. How, after confessing to his espionage activities for Russia, he used this salacious material to blackmail the British government to gain immunity from prosecution for over thirty years whilst still gaining a knighthood and becoming Keeper of the Royal Pictures.

The Duke’s role in the bitter struggle within royal and aristocratic circles to retain the British royal family’s German ancestry on the early death of the Duke’s younger brother, King George VI, when the Duke’s supporters challenged the legality of his earlier Abdication.

The Duchess’s audacious fraud perpetrated on the London insurance market by claiming her jewellery had been stolen, and the former top British secret agent she employed to carry out the burglary.

How British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher used the Duke’s secret past to deflect Queen Elizabeth II’s criticism of her right wing policies that could have brought her Government down.

Finally revealed is the real identity of the Duchess of Windsor and the startling secret she took to her grave.

I fancy having a read of The Duke of Windsor's Last Secrets. I have to say that the other book probably is not up my street.

I finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns last week and it is the first book that has made me cry for a long time. And excellent read. I now want to read The Kite Runner. Hope it is as good.

Pleased to have you on the site, Clive.
