UKIP leader Nigel Farage stands down

Nigel Farage says he is standing down as leader of the UK Independence Party.
Mr Farage said he had "done my bit" following the UK's referendum vote to leave the EU.

Waiting for geoffreys to come up with solutions now....

Could this be UKIP down the pan?

Farage may have stood down but he is still an MEP ( continuing to monitor from the inside).

For your information SFD, us "Remainers" know and accept we have to take what's coming, but it gets really stupid, when those like you "Leavers" keep on making comments about us. Are we not allowed to ask questions or look at how our own personal situations may now be affected, without having your continual ramming it down our throats that you "won" without all your ridiculous sarcasm. Perhaps if YOU were affected like some of us, you might not be so condescending towards us. Incidentally, why do you choose not to reveal your location? Do you reside in Britain then?

Yes, he is still an MEP, and I pity any person who now has to negotiate our exit with the EU, after he has made his comments about the EU. He didn't do the Leavers or Remainers any favours with his mocking of the other EU members. Perhaps Boris can help him find a way out of the back door!

Agree entirely Wavy Dave - the proverbial will now well and truly hit the fan...

Shouts his mouth off then when he knows he's caused enough damage, backs out smugly and watches someone else tries to sort out his mess.

(a) No.
(b) Exactly.

Don't forget who it was that forced Cameron to include the referendum in the Tory Party Manifesto.
The Country now owes a lot to Farage - who hopefully will be knighted for his services to
the Queen, Country, and people of the UK.

A real hero then. Self praise and saying others are backsliding, whilst he himself angers other nations we now have to negotiate with, because of his gloating. No doubt, when we are not able to "negotiate" sufficiently, due much to his outbursts, that he will then blame whichever Party has had that difficult task. This, from an individual who backs out as soon as all the uncertainty caused much by him. As for giving him an award, the Tower of London might be a better option. Where is King Henry when we need him?

So Farage and Johnson the main protagonists of the Brexit vote have both run away from the consequences of their actions. It's a pity they couldn't have told us they had no plan if they won and that they would leave it to others to sort out. A bit like the boy who cried wolf.

I have no doubt that the losers (The Remainers) will moan. Won't do them any good however,
Brexit has been voted for and will be implemented, together with strict immigration controls.
We all owe a lot to both Nigel and to Boris - in fact to all those who ran the Leave campaign.
Keep on moaning losers , drown your sorrows :pint

Boris turns to Farage and says "We won! What do we do now?"

Farage says "what do I care? Give it a week or so and I'm outta here but I'll still be being paid at least £200k per annum for fecking it all up"

Good, glad hes resigned rather than have to be pushed. He was certainly one of the right people to create the climate for leaving but certainly not the material for going ahead (maybe in 5 years he will be but not now) in leadership.

Hopefully he will be just the start of a whole swathe of resignations and sackings removing many useless inbreeds and those with interests only in the honey pot to be ousted.

A new breed of dedicated, eager, principled have had the door opened for them, lets see if they step up.

Your ‘location’ helps other members offer assistance.

It is surprising the number of times members ask “where can I get or does anyone know ‘whatever’ in my area” but don’t give their location.

Believe it or not, someone once asked for the best route from ‘their house’ to Troodos but there was no location for ‘their house’

We have members all over Cyprus (and the rest of the world) and it really is helpful to fill in your location in the profile section.

Help us help you…add your location
How to add your location (and any other information if you wish) to your profile
Click on the user control panel in top right of the page. This will open a new page
On this new page, on the left, you will see profile
Click on profile and this will again open a new page
On this new page, half way down the right section, add your location
Press submit

Well said Tanny.

This is one of the best bi-products of the Brexit vote IMHO & the media has the brass neck to refer to them as 'the political elite'

At least UKIP Members got individual letters (emails) from Farage. More than Tory Members got from Cameron!
Farage did the UK a big favour, along with the other Leave campaigns, don't forget there was
more than one.

Oh no! Really? So pleased Farage had so much time on his hands to do that.

So, still afraid to state your location then

Why are you obsessed by that...? What difference would it make...?

You'd be none the wiser if he put Paphos, Panama or Poland...

Put his mind at rest.
Tell him you're really in Timbuktu & 'he/she'? is in Umbogintwini.
He can spend time Googling that ... but won't be any the wiser !

Are you and Cyprus Grump married, as your postings appear to be consistently in conjunction, and your unneccessary
baiting is becoming so boring. :there

The big question is who will replace Farage. My money is on Neil Hamilton (UKIP leader in the Welsh Assembly and cash for questions celebrity). He sounds like an honest sort of chap.

Unless you are a Member of UKIP it is not a matter for you until the new Leader is announced.
You will have to wait see.

I would have thought that who the political leaders are is a matter for everyone.
