Does anyone knows who is currently holding a stock of Maine Coon food for sale. The distributors of Royal Canin are once again not delivering to satisfy customers and leaving shops empty.

So if anyone knows a pet food shop with a bag on the shelves please let me know soonest.

Thanks

Intrigued Tanny, is Maine Coon the name of the brand? Only ask because our daughter had a Maine Coon cat until it died of old age last year...and it would almost eat any old brand of cat food. They're a gorgeous, long-furred breed of cat.

Yes is a breed of cat, nice large and with wonderful personalities. Our male died earlier this year and we adopted a female (now in family way) this year. Maine coons like high protein diets and can have a delicate stomach so we like to keep the food regular. Ours too will eat most things, loves steak etc but as she's in the family way we want to keep her regular. Sadly Royal Canin had problems previously with suppliers here which is disappointing. We've been to pet shops who's shelves are almost empty of their brand!!

There may be some kittens available in a couple of months.

Tks tanny. Our daughter would, I am sure, have been interested in taking a kitten from you. But within the last two weeks a 3 month old kitten has adopted them and taken up residence in their house. This kitten has now got them well and truly wrapped around her tiny paws. Like they say, humans choose dogs, but cats choose humans.

This one looks a bit like a Maine Coon, not sure if it is though.

Hhmmm, although I feed around 20 ferals at the moment (this figure has gone up and down but always been around 20 for the last 12 years) I don't think this is a Maine Coon. More a calico cross. I may be wrong, but surely a loved stray nevertheless. I have several of these at the moment due to a neighbour moving out and leaving so many of her cats behind :tickedoff

You could be right Jaqs. Just checked out Calico Cross (which I've never heard of before) on Google. Interestingly, it says Calico Crosses are almost invariably female, which this one is. Much loved already though, whatever she is.

20 cats to feet? Oooh dear, don't envy your food bill :-(

It is quite a hefty bill! 2 x 20k bags of biscuit every 3 weeks or so€70/74plus tinned food around €8-10 per week. Then my 3 house cats 4-6 pouches of Felix per day about €12-15 a week, plus a bag of friskies biscuits a week €8, plus at the moment 4 kittens from the cats my neighbour left, 3-4 pouches of whiskas a day €3-4 per day. Plus biscuits from the big bags for the older outside cats or my inside cats, plus Delac milk, also litter if mine or the kittens are in overnight, plus assorted vets bills, speying which is free at Paphiakos for ferals, but we always give a donation...................

I have no savings and no huge pensions just quite modest ones, and a 6ft tall 13 year old to feed, clothe, ferry around, provide entertainment, hobbies.............. but we manage, just can't do as much for other animals as I would like to!

Thanks, will have a look in, but its very disappointing when suppliers seem to have such a poor attitude.
