Hello all,
We wondering if it is worth getting an agent to procure the MEU3A residency for my wife and self and if it is what do they charge for this? Thanks

We did it ourselves. Just provide some of the documents on the list you are given when you make the appointment. Immigration just wants proof of residence of at least 5 years eg bank statements, utility bill, rental/sales agreement. Photographs are taken at the interview and it costs €20 per person.

No it is not worth it. We applied Dec 18th. We now have our MEU3 all done by ourselfs. It was easy and cost only €20.00 each.

To echo what many have posted : It's quite a Simple process to complete - Firstly Visit reception @ immigration - you must take your Passport and if you have it your Yellow Slip/Alien Card - the receptionist who speaks english will take your details and give you a MEU3 form for each applicant and a appointment. She will also provide you with a list of documents that you submit when you fulfill your appointment - these you provide in copy form - immigration don't offer a Copy service.

These Being

1)Passports
2)Certificates of Registration (Yellow Slip)
3)Contract of sale/Title Deeds or tenancy agreement for last 5 years
4)Utilitiy Bills or statements from accounts from the relevant Authority Water or Electricity for passed 5 years or
5)Bank Statements for 5 Years or
6)Tax returns dating back 5 years or
7)Social Insurance certificate for contributions over last 5 years (if applicable) or
8)Any other document proving the completion of a continuous period of 5 years in the Republic of Cyprus
9)Marriage Certificate (if applicable) which must be apostille in the country of origin
10)Birth Certificates for children under 18 (if Applicable) which must be apostille in the country of origin

The cost per applicant is 20 euro - includes a photograph - and must be paid at the time of appointment.

At present the MEU3 is reportedly taking around 6 months or more to arrive.

So to answer your original question - do it yourself - its easier and less daunting than you might first originally think - more importantly you'll save yourself a few hard-earned Euros's on the way.

If you are supply say Electricity bill for 5 years that mean 30 bills ie 1 for every 2 months. Does EACH bill have to be photocopied or just the first and last

The bills are scrutinised and if you have any periods of low consumption you will be asked to explain why . I.E. was you off island .

Eac will provide a summary of your payments if you ask them , saves printing out 5 years of bills .

Example print out .

I would question what djjc posted .

Here is the list I was given in January .

No mention of tax , indeed when I went to the interview , the lady threw back my tax details and said not acceptable at Nicosia .

Did the marriage certificate have to be "apostitled"?
Amos.

Thank you Number6. I was just curious prior to us applying for MEU2As (non-EU Citizens/Aliens).
I also notice UK retirees (i.e. post-Brexit) will have to apply for a "settlement ID" soon. on presentation of either MEU1 or MEU3.
I am trying to ascertain if non-Brits will have to apply for those also.
Immigration don't seem to know themselves!
Amos.

At our interview last year we handed over

Copies of Passports, Rental Agreement and MEU1 Yellow Slips.
A letter from CYTA stating we have had an account with them for the past 5 years.
First page of last 5 annual income tax returns.
Copy of Marriage Certificate (no Apostille).
5 years of Cyprus bank statements printed off and stamped by our bank in a spreadsheet format ie not individual monthly pages so it was only 4 pages long. As we pay CYTA and electricity bills via the bank this supported the letter from CYTA.

Additionally handed over the documents below as proof that as a Dependant I have also been living here 5 years
Copies of current and previous Cyprus Medical Cards covering the last 5 years.
Copies of Contents Insurance for the last 5 years which is in joint names

Apart from some photocopying charges we each only paid the €20 fee.

you will see that the list that they give you of things to bring to your interview
will not be the same for everyone , it depends on each individuals status ..
some people have to show proof of private health cover
we had to show an up to date print out of our social insurance contributions
our wedding certificate, 5 years electric bills , not a statement all the electric bills , good job my wife keeps everything.

Here's a thought......would you still need proof of Medical Insurance if you are signed up for GESY?..and already had an MUE1
