I joined the RAOB Buffs when stationed in Cyprus in 1967/8 at RAF Akrotiri, I was stationed at Episkopi, it is many years since I last attended a meeting.

I am a BUFF I joined many many years ago in Nth Hykeham, Lincolnshire. I used to enjoy the meetings. I later about two years ago, attended the Paphos meeting which at the time was held in Limassol. I went twice and then gave up. The reason was that it was nothing at all like I remembered. It was a heavy drinking club with lots of foul language. The times they are a changing.

Cameraman - I think the chaps who meet at the Phoenix Club would be mortified to hear you say that - I can assure you they are not heavy drinkers as I usually man the bar for them when they meet and knowing some of the chaps I would be astonished to hear any bad language being used. I have always found them polite and considerate at all times and from what I can gather do some really good works on the charitable front.

I have just registered on the forum. I am the Secretary of the Lodge that now meets in Paphos, and I thank the Judge for his comments. We have 3 members that live in Paphos, and 5 members that come across from Limassol at each meeting to support us. One driver. davep, I think we have already spoken. Bassman63, I was 12SU Saltlake Transmiiters, 76 to 80, and attended Lodges in French Camp, Akrotiri, please come and see us, you will be made most welcome. cameraman, I am sorry you found the Lodge as you did. I can assure that foul language is not acceptable, and two, maybe three beers, is all you will see here, not the driver! Would you also please come and see us. First Thursday of the month, in the Phoenix Club. STB.

We hope to come over to Paphos in September 2019. I seem to remember that the Lodge at Akrotiri was 3739. It originated in Egypt at Aboukair (please excuse my spelling) I will try and fined my documents.

I don't see a link to the Lodge that meets in Paphos on the website.

That Lodge is the Tomb of the Kings Lodge and the link takes you to some details about them and an email link to their secretary

Thank you Judge but it still refers to Limassol - yes, I know I'm being pedantic but I do rely on up to date information before I pass it on to anyone else.

May I suggest you email the secretary and let him know, but for your assistance they meet every first Thursday evening of the month at the Phoenix Social Club in Paphos.
