When you push from 2h to 4h a light should come on on the dashboard, if it dose not four wheel drive is not working . My solution is to push lever to 4h and uses the car are a reasonable speed until you fell it drop in. 4x4 not disengage. If you have the opposite problem after using 4x4 , put the chemical in reverse and go back with some steering lock on . Light should go out.
