According to a report in the Cyprus Mail,
Hellenic Petroleum, EKO, yesterday announced its fuel prices had gone up. According to news reports EKO has put up its prices by between 1.7 euro cents and 3.2 euro cents.
Other petroleum companies are expected to follow in the coming days, Cyprus Petrol Stations Association president Pambinos Charalambous said.
“Already Hellenic Petroleum has increased its fuel prices by 0.1 euro cents to 0.3 euro cents per litre for petrol, heating fuel and transport fuel. It was to be expected due to the high [oil] prices we’ve heard that have exceeded $100 per barrel,” he said.
“We believe other companies will follow over the next few days.”
Super unleaded petrol will now cost €1.62 per litre and unleaded petrol €1.26 per litre. Transport fuel is set to cost €1.22 per litre and heating fuel €0.74 per litre.
Now that will explain the strange conversion rate when they changed over from cyp£ to €...
