An announcement from Paralimni Town Hall has said that using a hosepipe for washing cars and pavements is now forbidden- it’s just on of the new restrictions announced as the water shortage takes hold in the south east.

Hotels are breathing a sigh of relief after Paralimni Council announced they would not be affected with water cuts.

However residents will only get a three- day supply of water every week. The town all announced that water would be switch on for 16 hours every two days. The twon will also be split into four sections—with each receiving water at differing times.

Signs about the water cuts system and plans will be posted outside the town hall in Paralimni.

Most towns in Cyprus now have a restricted supply of water.
