A Jordanian construction worker was killed today while working on a site in the village of Polemi near Paphos.

Mohammed Sampani, 27, was struck by a high voltage electric shock and killed instantly.

The accident happened when Sampani was working with metal building rods which are thought to have touched live power cables.

He was found dead by his boss sometime after the incident.

Sampani had been living in Cyprus for the past year.
