See how I'm recovering, even if it means standing in goal, I'll try to make it as I won't be able to run :(

Looks like we should be OK for numbers this week.

Chas - can you ask the 2 lads who played last week (Terry & Ted I think?) if they're OK to come along again?

So the list runs (from this thread anyway) :

-> Confirmed ...

1) BigDutch
2) Captain Fantastic
3) Paphosfan
4) Gotannatog
5) Pete (injured)
6) Tanny + 2
7) Tanny + 2
8) Tanny + 2
9) pikeybouy

So potentially 14 which will be quite a surprise - we`ll have to use subs !! :smilielol Has anyone spoken with any of the 'unknown's to have an idea if they are coming ? I've pm'd them to invite them to the distant location that is the Sports Bar !

Glad you have the numbers as it makes me not feel so bad about having to pull out :cry:

Unless I have a major recovery overnight, it seems that I will have fought the astroturf..........and lost. The scabs are only just forming on both knees from where I fell last week. Nothing life threatening but as I'm sure you know, healing of skin on joints that are constantly in use is a right nightmare.

I'm ready for the chorus of 'Big girl' and such like.

Yup, Tanny used them a couple of weeks ago - so they might still be functional.

Don't be so paranoid, we're all sensitive types here, no-one is going to criticise you for circumstances beyond your control.

The combination of the "soft southerner" gene and a grazed knee has felled many a man in the past and will continue to do so in the future I've no doubt.

I can only hope for a swift recovery! I think we need to invest in a magic sponge for such matters.

After last weeks 'double booking' i thought i`d best confirm with the chap so i can confirm 8pm at Olympico (this is actually where we played last week not the first week) booked under 'Geoff'. The guy said its €70 but each week you play €10 goes "in the box" and then the 8th booking is free (paid from the box).

Just hope chas looks in here before going tonight to avoid a second booking.

-> Confirmed ...
1) BigDutch
2) Captain Fantastic
3) Gotannatog
4) Tanny + 2
5) Tanny + 2
6) Tanny + 2
7) pikeybouy
8) fletchy

-> Unknowns
arsenal + 2 ?

-> dressing room
Pete (back heel muscle)
Paphosfan (scabby knees)
smurf (cup tied)

Hi Big Dutch and all
Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday, busy with work stuff.
Love to come along tonight. Assuming I can find my way to Olympico I'll be there.

Cheers

fletchy - take it easy on us !

if you are coming from the 'Debenhams roundabout' follow signs down into tourist area you will get to a roundabout and you need to take first out (ie left) or
if you are coming from the Tombs of the Kings on the dual carriage way follow it right to the end and you get to a roundabout, go straight over

boobs a bit of an odd exit in that you go out where you expect the traffic to join ... 1km from the roundabout on the left is Olympico

:shock:

Even I can't make sense of those directions, and I know where the place is!

If you follow the signs for DNA Paintball, it's just along from there - pretty much opposite the water park.

If you get lost, give me a call - 99183173.

Thanks for the directions Big Dutch, just been to find it, spot on. I'll see you there tonight.
I also suspect it may be you guys needing to take it easy on me, 10 minutes in, when I'm regretting all the fags, beer and meat pies!

Cheers fella

houston we have a problem

i thought it was arranged for forza, which is where the 1st. game was played, & a pitch has been arranged for 8pm.

bad news tho, it's been confirmed i've badly damaged my thumb, & been told not to play for a couple of weeks, so if the game is going to be played at olympico, could someone meet "my friends" at forza about 7.45, & take them down to olympico

chas

I take it 'Olympico' pitches are on the left hand side before the right turn to Geroskipou beach & the dirt track to 'Forza' pitches yeah :?

Dean, do you require a lift down mate, if so, I'll meet you at the round about as before approx 7.30pm ok :congrats

Really enjoyed the game last night chaps - just waiting with anticipation for Pete's video footage to make it online....

I do however sadly have to report that my grazed knee has flared up badly overnight, so my participation next week is already in doubt! :D

This is the smallest of the 5 files I recorded last night, it's a few minutes of the guys warming up :D

http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2r720k4&s=4

Will try to get the rest uploaded soon :D

Please remember, due the fact we couldn't get Tanny video camera to work, these were taken with my SonyErricson K800i mobile phone, nothing else :lol:

Next week will probably be the last game before Xmas due to some people going back to the soggy UK for the festive period, so the more that turn up the better the game will be :bounce

Thanks for the game last night fella's and for making a newbie feel very welcome.
I seem to be walking like John Wayne after he's been in the saddle for a week, but no other injuries.
looking forward to next week, hopefully be able to finish the first half without puffing like a steam train!

Cheers

:lol: Excellent stuff!

I feel duty bound to draw everyone's attention to the stunning interception and brekaway goal at 3:35 in the second vid, and also the barnstorming finish right at the end.....Pete obviously stopped filming out of sheer awe at that point! 8-)
